Support We Offer

Upon admission to the Take Stock in Children programstudents sign a contract pledging to remain drug-free, maintain good grades, and stay out of trouble and are matched with a caring adult mentor. Parents also sign the contract, promising to be involved with their children's academic achievement and supportive of their chosen paths. When students graduate high school and successfully fulfill the obligations of their contracts, they are awarded college tuition scholarships good for two years at a community college followed by two years at a state university. Students also may choose to pursue technical or vocational degrees at institutions that accept Florida Prepaid Tuition Scholarships.

Take Stock in Children works to ensure that its students gain access to the best educational and career resources available and that our local programs receive the support they need to make a lasting impact on the children they serve. Student Advocates provide case management services to ensure that our students remain on track to complete high school and earn their scholarships. Print and online resources, such as the Mentor Toolkit, Mentor Minute, Parent and Student Resource Centers, and the Student Success Portfolio present an array of information, activities and tools designed to maximize mentors' and students' experiences while in the Take Stock in Children program.
